Our whole lives are blood sugars and gut health issues— we’re swimming in blood sugars and rashes—first and foremost we have two Type 2 Diabetics (my hubby and me) and one Type 1 Diabetic (our son) in the house plus I have Psoriasis and Kidney Stones with constant systemic candidiasis from the antibiotics I have to take to combat Kidney infections and one of our daughters has severe Eczema. I’ve had enough! Something’s got to change and I realize it’s got to be drastic. We’re living in a toxic environment from the products we use to the foods we eat. And to boot, I’ve picked a fine time to declare such a change as most the Country is in lockdown mode with no supplies anywhere because of the Corona Virus. But maybe just maybe I’ve picked a great time to start because we need all the immunity we can get. 

High five for me because I got one of the last bottles of white vinegar at Walmart today because I thought it was time to switch to an all-natural cleaner for starters.I’m using a mixture of white vinegar and water to scrub our floors (I’m mixing ½ cup of white distilled vinegar and a half-gallon of warm water which makes for a toxin-free floor cleaner.)

Sugar Substitute

I also came across this website, All The Nourishing Things, that uses this sugar substitute (1:1 part erythritol and stevia- it only works with the dry form of both not the liquid form)  It looks and tastes just like sugar! It can be substituted cup-for-cup in cooking and baking. Use it to sweeten hot and cold drinks, baked goodies, puddings and custards, and more! You get all the sweetness of sugar without the blood sugar spikes and without feeding harmful pathogens in the gut, like candida! 

My son and I are sweet treat aholics so it’s going to be interesting to see just how we adjust to this “new sugar.” I’m so excited to try it out in recipes.

The first thing I’m going to do is bake a cake and then make frosting: Keto Coconut Flour Chocolate Cake with Chocolate Avocado Frosting (This is from her website too.) It’s kind of drastic but why not because it sounds and looks delicious!
